Survey for QLD Home Educators

To assist with our advocacy work for home educating families, the Queensland chapter of the Home Education Association is conducting an anonymous survey to ascertain how well the HEU meets the expectations of them based on their employment criteria, the Education Act, and various government guidelines for the Public Service regarding consultation and parent engagement.

The Home Education Unit (HEU) is a regulatory body established by the Queensland Government to regulate home education. It assists parents to understand their obligations in meeting the standard conditions of registration and oversees the home education registration and reporting process. The HEU conducts no surveys of its own and is not required to produce an annual report, thus greatly reducing its accountability.

Data from this anonymous survey will be used to direct the advocacy efforts of the HEAQ and to inform the HEU and the Minister for Education of any areas of strengths and weaknesses raised by the home education community.

Queensland home educators who are or have been registered with the HEU are encouraged to complete this anonymous survey. HEA membership is not required, and the survey is completely anonymous. Please share this link in your communities.
