Attention NSW Homeschoolers
NESA and the Department of Education are being audited. The Audit Office is completely independent of NESA and the Department of Education. They will report their findings directly to parliament.
"This audit will assess how well the Department of Education and NESA fulfill their responsibilities to support students to receive a quality education delivered through flexible ways and/ or in alternative settings." This means how well they support your children as they are homeschooled.
HEA met with the Audit Office on 14th October 2024 and we strongly encourage NSW members to make submissions about their experiences and to share this information to encourage others to make submissions. This is not the same as a parliamentary enquiry. Submissions are not published and can be submitted anonymously.
Submissions don’t need to be formal - just sharing your experiences will help. They are particularly interested in personal experiences
- experiences when removing your child from school
- experiences of interactions with AP
- experiences related to NESA website, syllabus, registration procedures etc
- anything you have to contribute on the topic
